Supporting Athlete Recovery at the Aruba Blaze x Kares Caribbean Championship

This past weekend, ELEVA Physiotherapy & Performance had the opportunity to support athletes at the Aruba Blaze x Kares Caribbean Championship as the official Athlete Recovery partner.

The competition brought together functional fitness athletes from across Aruba, the Caribbean, and beyond for two days of demanding events designed to test strength, endurance, skill, and resilience. The event has quickly established itself as one of the Caribbean's premier CrossFit-licensed competitions, attracting athletes from multiple countries and showcasing the continued growth of competitive fitness in the region.

For ELEVA, it was another opportunity to take physiotherapy outside the clinic and into the competition environment, where recovery becomes just as important as training.

Throughout the weekend, athletes had access to sports massage, Normatec compression therapy, and physiotherapy support between events.

In competitions like these, recovery happens in a very short window. Athletes might only have a few hours, or even less, before they are back on the competition floor. Every treatment needs to be purposeful. Sometimes that means reducing muscle soreness, sometimes improving mobility, and sometimes simply helping an athlete reset both physically and mentally before the next event.

One of the most rewarding parts of the weekend was seeing athletes make recovery part of their performance strategy. More and more competitors understand that success isn't only built during training sessions. It is also built in everything that happens between them. Proper recovery allows athletes to maintain performance throughout an entire competition instead of simply surviving the first few events.

As a physiotherapist and athlete himself, ELEVA founder Edric Magalona understands these demands from both perspectives. Having competed internationally in strength sports and now working with athletes across different levels, he knows that high-performance sport is about far more than what spectators see during competition.

Events like the Aruba Blaze x Kares Caribbean Championship also demonstrate how much the sporting community in Aruba continues to grow. Bringing together local and international athletes creates an environment where competitors can challenge themselves, learn from one another, and continue raising the standard of competition across the Caribbean.

ELEVA would like to thank the organisers of Aruba Blaze x Kares Caribbean Championship for trusting us to provide athlete recovery services throughout the weekend. We are equally grateful to every athlete who visited the recovery area and allowed us to be part of their competition experience.

Every event provides new experiences, new lessons, and new opportunities to work alongside dedicated athletes pursuing their goals. Those experiences continue to shape the care we provide every day back at the clinic.

At ELEVA, we believe recovery isn't the pause between competing. It's part of performance itself. Whether working with elite athletes, weekend competitors, or someone simply looking to move without pain, the goal remains the same: helping people recover well, perform confidently, and keep doing what they love.
